Now, how many times have I been to Bangkok ever since moving to Asia? At least a handful of times. One of the things which I really appreciate and love about Bangkok accommodations is the service apartments. Nearly every time I go to Bangkok I stay at such a place, individual suites outfitted with a separate living room area, dining area and a kitchenette equipped with microwave, fridge, hot water boiler and sink. Coz you know, Bangkok is filled with good eats and I am greedy, so I like to pack food to go so that I can heat it up later on and have it for supper. On the recent trip I went on, I got to stay at Chatrium Residence Sathon Bangkok, a 4-star accommodation in the Sathon area. And yes, it is a serviced residence so it doesn’t feel so much like a hotel, but a home away from home.
Nicely located in a very quiet and secluded section of Southern Bangkok and gracefully surrounded by lush tropical gardens the Chatrium Residence Sathon Bangkok offers superb facilities and services for either short and long-term residential needs in the city. The selection of available rooms allow all visitors to find a very spacious and well furnished heaven of comfort to be their home when travelling to Bangkok, suitable for individuals as well as families requiring multi-bedroom units.
The deluxe one-bedroom suite at Chatrium Residence Sathon where I stayed for one night is set up exactly like that. It’s spacious at 70 sqm with a private balcony. High speed wifi is of course complimentary. I am most impressed by the sheer enormity of the Chatrium’s property. Not only is the entrance driveway and reception lobby ginormous, I found out after checking-in that there are six different towers of rooms/suites. Whoa! The breakfast venue is also sprawling with a beautiful view of the city skyline; one of the larger dining halls I’ve ever seen so far in hotels. There’s also a huge swimming pool area which is perfect for jumping in for a nice cool dip on a hot muggy afternoon.
Since I stayed for just one night, I didn’t have a lot of time to explore the property and get acquainted to all the facilities (such as gym, spa, bar). Room rates start at SGD80/night via AirAsiaGo.com – which is a fantastic deal for the amount of space and facilities offered here.
Getting to Chatrium Residence Sathon Bangkok from the airport takes 40 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. There’s also complimentary shuttle van service (scheduled) to Chong Nonsi BTS Station.
