March 30, 2015: Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands stayed at Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon during her State Visit to Myanmar from the 30th of March to 1st of April, 2015. The UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, Ms. May Myat Mon Win, General Manager of Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon and team warmly welcomed Queen Maxima upon her arrival.
On Monday the 30th of March, 2015 Queen Máxima held talks with representatives of banks, microfinance institutions and telecom providers. On Tuesday the 31st of March, Queen Máxima delivered a speech at the University of Yangon on the importance of access to financial services.
On Wednesday the 1st of April Queen Máxima attended the launch of the Financial Inclusion Roadmap in the capital, Nay Pyi Taw. She also met with representatives of Myanmar’s government, central bank and parliament, among others, to discuss the importance of access to financial services for the development of the country’s people.
