Yangon: June, 2015, Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon donated Kyat 1,178,959 plus US$24 cash to the Nepal Red Cross for Nepal earthquake relief through the Myanmar Red Cross Society which was received by the honorable guest H.E Mr. Paras Ghimire, Ambassador of the Nepali Embassy in Yangon.
Chatrium Hotels & Residences started the “Chatrium for Nepal” project in Chatrium hotels in Myanmar and Bangkok after an earthquake shook Nepal. Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon started the “Chatrium For Nepal” campaign on the 6th of May, 2015 and placed a donation box in the hotel and accepted cash during May & June from hotel guests and associates.
The Ambassador of Nepal said “We really appreciated the guests, families and friends from Chatrium Hotel for this kind support and thank the Myanmar Red Cross Society as well for all the cooperation and humanitarian aid for the Nepal earthquake victims.”
“Giving sharing and caring is a basic ethic and feature of culture in Myanmar and we believe that our change can make a change. Thank you our guests from all over the world and associates for your support” said Daw May Myat Mon Win, General Manager of Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon.
Dr. Aung Mon, Honorary Secretary of the Myanmar Red Cross Society said “we will forward this donation cash to the people of Nepal through the Nepal Red Cross Society and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) very soon. And I would like to say thanks to Chatrium hotel for helping Nepal through us.”
