Sustainable Tourism: How Chatrium Hospitality Approaches Responsibility

Sustainable tourism isn’t a separate practice at Chatrium Hospitality it’s woven into how we operate, from resource management to community partnerships. As the industry sets higher standards, we’ve found that building responsibly means being specific about the work, not just the intent.
At Chatrium Hospitality, this takes several forms. We measure and reduce our environmental footprint across our properties. We work closely with local communities and suppliers, recognising that a hotel’s impact extends beyond its walls. We engage our teams in sustainability practices, so the commitment moves through every department. And we stay current with evolving frameworks including Thailand’s STG STAR standard and internationally recognised sustainability benchmarks to ensure our practices remain aligned with best practice.

Recently, we participated in the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s “Pathway to Sustainable Tourism” workshop, where Chatrium’s leadership shared experiences with peers across the industry. These conversations matter. When hotels exchange what works, when we collectively raise the bar, the benefits extend to destinations, local economies and the guests who choose to travel responsibly.

Sustainability is a long practice, not a campaign. It requires thought, collaboration and genuine action over time. That’s the work Chatrium remains engaged in not because it’s fashionable, but because it matters for Thailand’s tourism future and the properties our guests trust us with.
